The Hotel

As soon as you arrive at Keur Saloum hotel-lodge, a breathtakingly immense and untouched landscape unfolds before your eyes. You are in Toubacouta, Senegal, right in the middle of the Saloum Delta.

Unesco World Natural Heritage

This area is unique in its natural and wild beauty and was recently included by Unesco in its World Natural Heritage List of protected biosphere reserves.

What is more, the “Delta du Saloum” was adopted in 2011 in the very exclusive “Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World”.

Situated in the protected Saloum Delta National Park, the hotel is perched on a high point overlooking the mangrove and a large sound offering an unforgettable panorama.

African Amazonia

Far away from Dakar and its hectic life, visitors looking for genuine Africa will enjoy the pirogue rides in the mangrove.

Home to hundreds of different bird species, no wonder why the place is also referred to as African Amazonia!

Keur Saloum hotel-lodge is indeed a typical ecotourism place where you can enjoy nature in really deserved comfort. Here, leisure includes mostly fishing, bird and wildlife watching.

Keen photographers will benefit from the natural beauty and sunlight of the Saloum Delta.

Our Local Piece of Paradise

At Keur Saloum we highly value our guests and we strive to give them an unforgettable time during their stay. That is why our hotel gardens are given the utmost care so that you can get the best of tropical flora.

A superb lawn planted with coconut palm-trees and other species will be a unique playground for your children and it sits just next to the giant tortoises’ enclosure.

Our Service

At Keur Saloum Hotel Lodge, the European manager speaks several languages. In the high season, he is in charge of a staff of 50 people who will do their best to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay in an African surrounding.

The Rooms

The 60 comfortable rooms contain quiet air-conditioning, an individual shower and toilet and brand new televisions. They are tastefully arranged in African-style bungalows scattered throughout a 7-hectare park with numerous trees and flowers.

We also offer 5 family rooms which can each accommodate 4 guests in great comfort.

This building called “Les Tisserins” is fully equiped with solar energy.

Let us not forget our 6 comfortable suites, providing a unique sight on the mangroves.

We called them the “Lamantin du Saloum” because of their shape, but also because of the scarcity of this loved mammal (the manatee or “sea cow”), still present in this part of the Saloum Delta.

The “Lamantin du Saloum” offers comfort and space as each 70 square metres suite also includes a balcony overlooking the mangrove.

Facilities

The cascading swimming-pool and sun terrace are next to the bar where you can enjoy a drink.

The restaurant and bar

The restaurant building is opened on each side, providing a natural air conditioning, overlooking the mangroves.

The cuisine is diversified and pays tribute to French, international and African specialties, making this place famous in Senegal. We even serve our hot mangrove oysters once a week.

The round-shaped bar is the place where you will enjoy a cocktail and socialize after a day spent discovering the surroundings.

The panoramic terrace

From our unique 200 square meters panoramic terrace, equipped with comfortable armchairs, deck chairs and hammocks, you will enjoy a splendid view over the mangroves and our typically breathtaking African sunsets.

The meeting rooms

We have two meeting rooms with excellent acoustics, sitting over 30 people

These rooms are available, free of charge, for your meetings, incentive trips, congress or residential gatherings.
