Our hotel offers a wide variety of activities and excursions which are all focused on the discovery and exploration of the region and its numerous and diversified inhabitants.

We are talking about the local inhabitants who are very hospitable and colorful, but also about the birds, dolphins, monkeys and fishes that live in this huge open aviary.

The unspoiled Africa is happy to reveal its exotic secrets when you quietly glide through the water with an authentic prahu looking for endless sandy beaches, imposing, millennial baobabs or kapok trees.

The region can also be explored while walking, by bike, with the kayak or with an SUV.

Our guides are very competent, hospitable and eager to help.

Excursions

At Hotel-Lodge Keur Saloum, when mentioning the Saloum area, biodiversity is all over the place and it is of course the theme of all our excursions. They include the discovery of fishermen’s villages in the various islands, picnics on desert sandy beaches, visits to local weekly markets, pirogue or 4-wheel rides.

hotel-lodge Keur Saloum is located in the heart of one of Africa’s most beautiful ecosystems. What’s more, this huge territory covering about 200,000 hectares, with its intimate blend of sky, earth and sea, has been the subject of several national and international protective measures. It therefore deserves our protection as well.

Fishing

Until the late 90’s the Saloum Delta area was one of the most abundant waters in the world. Fishing there usually meant pleasure and unique catch, even for beginners. Unfortunately overfishing, especially with processing boats off the Senegalese shores, was to blame for a sudden fall in term of fish.
